I'm Zonen Wang
(Zhuoneng Wang)
Designer & Prototyper focused on XR, product UX, and spatial interaction.
What I do
At Microsoft, I've led the design of core XR interactions and immersive collaboration experiences for Mesh and Teams. Previously at ByteDance, I led product definition and end-to-end UX for TikTok Effect House, taking the AR creation platform from concept to MVP.
With a background in interactive development, I build functional prototypes to test interaction ideas and bridge design and engineering.
I studied interaction design at Carnegie Mellon after exploring interactive technologies at UCLA's Technology Studio.

How I think
I'm fascinated by how body movement, perception, and feedback shape our interactions with technology.
What makes a gesture feel natural? How can an interface communicate its response without getting in the way?
I explore these questions through design, research, and hands-on prototyping, connecting interaction details to the larger product experience.
Beyond the screen
I'm also a photographer and filmmaker. My photographs have appeared in magazines and online. Nomadic Cloud, an animated short I directed and produced, received two NASA competition awards and screened at film festivals and theaters in the U.S.
Outside of design, I enjoy good pour-over coffee, tennis, and reading.
